Saint Valentine

 Tomorrow will be Saint Valentine Day most people on think of roses candy balloons but not the true meaning of this bitter sweet day . In the year 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a three part execution of a beating, stoning, and finally decapitation all because of his stand for Christian marriage. The story goes that the last words he wrote were in a note to Asterius' daughter. He inspired today's romantic missives by signing it, "from your Valentine. If your celebrating today don't forget to pray for this saint and give him a thank you for believing in love so much he truly died for it .

"A BUTTERFLY AND AN ANGEL"

WE CANNOT SEE THE ANGELS
YET WE KNOW THEY ARE NEAR,
WE CANNOT TOUCH AN ANGEL
YET WE KNOW THAT THEY ARE HERE...
JUST LOOK AROUND YOU
SEE THE LOVELY BUTTERFLY,
SAILING IN THE SKY OF BLUE
FLUTTERING, SWIRLING UP SO HIGH.
WITH ITS MAGIC WINGS
IT CAN WIPE AWAY OUR TEARS,
ITS BEAUTY IS SO BREATH-TAKING
I KNOW IT'S AN ANGEL HOVERING NEAR.
GOD SENT THESE BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES
THEY VISIT US AS THEY SOAR AND PLAY,
THEY ARE REALLY TINY ANGELS
FLOATING UNSEEN AMONG US EVERY DAY...
THEY ARE HERE TO HELP US
THESE ANGELS IN DISGUISE,
THEY HAVE TAKEN THE EARTHLY BODY
OF HUNDREDS OF LOVELY BUTTERFLIES.
THEY SEEM TO NOT TO NOTICE US
TRAVELING ON WINGS OF FRAGILE LACE,
THEY DART AMONG FLOWER PETALS
THEIR JOURNEY TAKES THEM MANY A PLACE.
AS YOU LOOK AROUND AND SEE A BUTTERFLY
ON A WARM SUMMER DAY,
IT JUST MIGHT BE YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
CHECKING ON YOU IN HER SECRET WAY...
WHEN I SEE THE BEAUTY OF A BUTTERFLY
THE DELICATE WINGS IN A FLUTTER,
I FEEL THE CLOSENESS OF GOD
AS THE ANGEL IS MY MOTHER...
